Thai acupressure
Discover the magic of Thai Acupressure.
Come learn and experience Thai acupressure, an ancient practice with deep roots in Thailand's medical tradition.
THAI MEDICAL MASSAGE
Since the Sukhotai era (1240-1320), medical massage has been central to Thai culture.
The royalty strove to preserve and transmit this knowledge, initially orally and later through inscriptions on stone and palm leaves. In 1836, more than 1,000 formulas about illnesses and treatments were engraved on marble tablets at the Wat Po and Wat Raja Oros temples. These inscriptions detail the principles of traditional Thai massage, including specific symptoms and treatments for each massage point.
The inscriptions include 60 diagrams of the human body, explaining the lines of energy and the four elements (earth, water, wind and fire) and the therapeutic effects of the massage points. Advanced knowledge of these points requires a deep understanding of traditional Thai medicine.
In 1955, massage point combinations were compiled during seminars led by Mr. Preeda Tangtrongchitr, founder of the Wat Po massage school. These seminars resulted in standard treatment routines, which are taught in the general and therapeutic massage courses at the Wat Po school in Bangkok.

Combinations of Therapeutic Points
Join our event and immerse yourself in the tradition and effectiveness of Thai acupressure. Discover how these ancient techniques can improve your health and well-being.
Traditional Therapeutic Points
Therapeutic point combinations are used to treat diagnosed orthopedic problems. Each point is pressed with the thumb for 5 to 15 seconds, adjusting the pressure to the client, with a maximum of ten repetitions. In acute cases, treatment can be daily until recovery, while in chronic conditions it must be done twice a week.
Wat Pho Point Combinations
The book presents 60 point combinations, created in 1955 by teachers at the Wat Pho massage school, led by Mr. Preeda Tangtrongchitr. These routines are taught in general and therapeutic massage courses in Bangkok
Ready Point Formulas
Ready-made combinations of points are effective even for practitioners with basic training, without the need for theoretical medical knowledge, and help to develop intuitive perception of energy lines and points.
Simple Orthopedic Disorders
The 60 combinations treat common orthopedic pathologies such as muscle hypertonicity, myofascial trigger points, muscle weakness, tendinosis, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, ligament sprains, osteoarthritis, neurovascular compressions and neural strains. They do not treat fractures, dislocations, disorders caused by viral or bacterial diseases, or internal or systemic diseases.
